The main active ingredient of VAG Forte™ is Black cohosh (Cimicifuga foetida) standardized root extract with 8% of triterpene glycosides (as 27-deoxyactein), it also includes isoflavonoids, aromatic acids, tannins, starch, and sugar.
Black cohosh standardized root extract provides positive effect on female reproductive system.
Black cohosh has estrogenlike, mild sedative, relaxing and spasmolytic action, used in painful menstruations, menstrual cycle abnormalities, to relieve menopause symptoms (hot flashes, excessive night sweating, vaginal dryness, etc.). This plant can also be used successfully for PMS syndrome.
Black cohosh root extract demonstrates an estrogen-like effect, but lacks the disadvantages of classical hormonal preparations.
Chickweed (Stellaria media L.) has been used in folk medicine for ages as a pain reliever, and contains an abundance of vitamins C, E, carotin, flavonoids, and mineral substances. Chickweed leaves are beneficial for the cardio-vascular and nervous systems.
Marshmallow root (Althaea officinalis L.) contains mucous substances (polysaccharides) necessary for softening and protection of irritated and damaged mucus membranes.
